Summary: Miguel Ángel Jiménez Rodríguez is a seasoned professional golf player who has been playing at the professional level since 1998. He has won 18 European titles in his 24 years long career. Jiminez is widely known “the Mechanic” – the nickname he earned for his love for repairing high performance vehicles, rather than driving them. He owns a scorching red Ferrari.
Miguel Ángel Jiménez Rodríguez is an extremely talented professional Spanish golf player who has won a mind-blowing eighteen times at the European Tour besides various PGA tours. He also represented Spanish and European Teams at various tournaments. A seasoned player with a long career, Jiménez is well respected and counted as one of the greats in the game of Golf.

Jiménez played his first European Open in 1988 but achieved a major breakthrough only in 1992 when he won Piaget Belgian Open.
His 24 year long career has seen several ups and downs but experts divide his success in four major periods. In 1994, Jiminez finished 5th on the European Tour Order of Merit where he shot a very rare albatross on the 17th hole.
Then, after a period of lull, in 1998& 1999, he finished 4th in the European Order Of Merit for 2 consecutive years, a period in which he won four European Masters Events a list which included the very prestigious Volvo Masters trophy. The year 1999 was especially good as he stood 2nd at the WCA American Express Championship and made his Ryder Cup Debut.
His next success period came in 2005 where he won the Omega Hong Kong Cup, followed by the Celtic Manor Wales Open and the Spanish Pairs final with Andrés Jiménez in the same year.
He has also seen success representing Spain and Europe. Winning the Alfred Dunhill Cup consecutively in 1999, he also helped the Steve Trophy in 2000 and the Ryder Cup in 2004 and 2010.
In 2009, as defending champion at the BMW PGA Championship title, he shot an albatross for a second time in his career thus distinguishing himself from all other players.
In 2010, he won three titles in a season, an exceptional record which comprised winning the titles at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic, Alstom Open de France and Omega European Masters. He marked his 500th European Masters appearance at Alstom.

Jiminez has featured in the top 100 of the European Tour Order of Merit every single season since 1989, the highlight of the record being standing fourth for two consecutive seasons in 1998 & 1999. He has also featured in the top 20 of the Official World Golf Rankings where he is currently ranked 68th. He is also ranked 36th in the Race to Dubai.
