Ping Rapture V2 Irons VS Ping G15 Irons

The Ping Rapture V2 irons leverage the multi-metal technology to not only launch the ball longer, but also higher and with more accuracy. Now you can hit those soaring iron approach shots that go high and long and yet land softly on the green. If you are sick of missing greens or facing those monster birdie putts, the Rapture V2 irons will quickly solve that problem.

Personal Views on the Ping Rapture V2 Irons

Here are a few comments golfer have made concerning the Rapture V2 irons:

“These clubs are have the largest sweet spot of any irons I’ve ever hit. “

“ball flight is high and straight. “

“It’s almost impossible to mis-hit these irons. “

“The Rapture V2 irons are fantastic clubs. “

“The topline is a little thick looking, but not nearly as clunky as hybrid irons. Once you hit them, though, you feel like a player. Awesome.”

“Everyone always says, ‘swing easy.’ These are the first clubs I could actually do that and still have the ball rocket off the face. Great clubs.”

ping G15 Irons

Design and Technology
Like its predecessor, the G15 is an oversized iron designed for players seeking maximum forgiveness. However, several changes have been made which PING believes should make the club even more forgiving.

The epicenter of the G15′s technological advances is the new Custom Tuning Port (“CTP”). While the G10 had a CTP, PING engineers reshaped and repositioned the CTP to save seven grams. The weight savings of a thinner face allowed the engineers move weight to the perimeter – particularly the toe – to improve forgiveness for off-center hits as well as increase MOI. PING believes that these changes provide the proper structure and support to ensure distance control and solid feel.

Nice Looking Ping Rapture Driver

The Ping Rapture Driver uses carbon composite and titanium in a powerful and forgiving head designed to be easy to hit, long and high flying. Our pro’s stats backed this up and we think this is a fab choice for golfers looking for extra carry, hangtime and distance. The Rapture looks nice too and sounds pure at impact due to acoustic engineering.

Firstly, let’s look at the specification of it.

460cc Titanium-Composite Head – Lightweight, high strength composite has allowed PING engineers to move 20 grams of discretionary weight from the crown and skirt to be repositioned in strategic areas in the head. This has created a high launching, low spinning driver for increased distance and tighter dispersion on shots hit across the entire face.
Patent Pending Web Crown Design – Titanium has been removed from low stress areas of the crown and replaced with lightweight composite. This allows the CG to be positioned for a higher trajectory and lower spin creating maximum distance and a higher MOI for greater control resulting in straighter drives.

Computer Optimized Analysis – Highly advanced computer analysis was conducted on the club during design to ensure increased durability and performance of the entire club head, while also producing an outstanding sound during impact.

Robotic Plasma Weld – Very accurate and consistent welds improve the consistency and durability of the face while saving weight, which is redistributed throughout the club head.

Exceptional Aesthetics – Simple, but eye catching aesthetics make the Rapture Driver appealing to your eye.

Thre Loft Options – Available in 9.0°, 10.5°, and 12.0° loft options that allow you to fit this high performance driver to your game.

New TFX 909D Shaft – Premium graphite shaft designed by PING specifically for the Rapture product line. The shaft utilizes high end lightweight materials which increase club head speed for maximum distance and increase tip and butt stability for better control and feel.

VS Proto 65 Shaft – Premium graphite shaft designed by Aldila promotes a lower ball flight trajectory than the TFC 909D, by producing a lower launch angle with a slightly lower spin rate.

New NTS Grip – This new wrap style grip utilizes a soft rubber compound for enhanced feel, similar to the 703 grip.

The entire Ping Rapture line is a display in what Ping can do when they crack open the technology vault. These clubs are loaded with technology and their price tags reflect it.

The biggest technology in the Rapture has to be the composite “web crown”. Essentially this design removes some of the titanium from the crown of the club so additional weight can be moved within the head. The company has inserted lightweight composite material into this web and it has allowed for an additional 20 grams of discretionary weight. Engineers moved this weight towards the sides and back… helping create both additional MOI and a higher launch angle. The addition of this composite material also helps create a more solid sound… something that a lot of newer drivers lack.

There are a lot of things to like about Ping. Their equipment is of good quality, they offer well thought out designs and their fitting system is second to none. They also don’t bring out new clubs for the sake of bringing out new clubs. Over the past few years most of their drivers have been noticeably better than the previous… the G2 was a lot better than it’s predecessors and the G5 was a noticeable improvement over the G2. The extra technology packed into the Rapture should make it a lot better than the G5… but it’s not.

The Ping Rapture V2 driver represents the culmination of Ping’s development of multi-metal technology that combines the key properties of the materials to maximise the performance of the club. The Rapture V2′s 460 cc head combines a titanium body with external tungsten weight pads that are located at the back of the club, near the heel and toe. The weight pads position the centre of gravity to allow the Ping Rapture V2 to deliver a lower spin and high launch angle together with a higher MOI that improves both distance and accuracy. The head is plasma-welded and it’s taller face has been machined to variable thicknesses to promote increased ball speed and is styled with an aggressively tapered crown featuring the Double-Rapture alignment aid.

Ping launched the original Rapture range in 2006 with the aim of combining a variety of materials to produce the most technologically advanced clubs they could. This proved popular and now Ping has improved these clubs further with the launch of the Rapture V2 range. The Ping Rapture V2 driver has probably undergone the biggest change. Gone is the composite graphite/titanium head in favour of an all titanium head with external tungsten weight pads instead of internal. Compared to the previous version, the head is slightly longer back to front with a higher MOI that improves both distance and accuracy. In our tests the Rpature V2 was a joy to hit and the new titanium head gave a great powerful sound at impact. Even with the increased stability in the head, it was still possible to move the ball left and right easily. If money is no object then this is one of the very best drivers on the market, but the Rapture V2 range does not come cheap and we are not sure this V2 is £100 better than the Ping G10 driver, which is fantastic in its own right.

Review On Ping Rapture V2 fairway wood

Today, I will talk about the Ping Rapture V2 fairway wood. As is known to all, this club is the result of Ping’s focus on multi-metal technology in which the key properties of various materials are combined to optimize performance.

Its head has also been designed with a larger, shallow head profile to deliver added forgiveness and optimise performance in all conditions. The shallow face and wider sole of the large, stainless steel head ensures stability and forgiveness while producing a high trajectory. Its three-part construction combines the tungsten sole and stainless steel body with a plasma-welded, machined steel face to increase ball speed for greater distance.

The Rapture V2 fairway wood features a tungsten sole plate that constitutes 34% of the head’s mass to position the centre of gravity for a higher launch angle and lower spin, which coupled with more loft (16 degrees) ensures the ball goes further with a more boring ball flight. The Ping Rapture V2 fairway also features the distinctive Double-Rapture alignment aid on the crown.

Concretely, it has the following features:

1. Thin Crown Design Technology
Low stress areas are “thinned” resulting in four extra grams of discretionary weight that is redistributed into the tungsten alloy sole.

2. Thin, Machined Variable Face with Robotic Plasma Weld
Precisely machined, thin variable-thickness face leads to exceptional performance including higher ball speed. The Robotic Plasma Weld improves durability and saves weight, which is redistributed in the tungsten alloy sole.

3. New Dual Rapture Graphic Alignment Aid
New, visually appealing alignment aid will inspire additional confidence in your game by making sure you are aligned squarely to your target every time.

In addition, the Ping Rapture V2 fairway woods have a thin machined face and a wider sole. That extends the perimeter weighting, and the variable thickness face produces more ball speed and greater stability. it has also undergone a makeover with the internal weight pads in the sole replaced with a tungsten sole plate that constitutes a third of the head’s mass.

To be frank, it will give you lots of confidence and forgiveness and although the lofts are slightly higher than normal, distance and trajectory are not affected. This is because modern golf balls spin less and we found these golf clubs a joy to hit and certainly the best fairway woods in any golf shop Ping have made to date.

The Ping Rapture Hybrid has a combination of a 17-4 stainless steel body, tungsten nickel sole plate and 475 super steel face that raise hybrid performance to new levels of distance, forgiveness and control. The thin, super steel face provides a hot, responsive hitting area and allows Ping engineers to re-distribute weight in the form of tungsten nickel on the sole. The Ping Rapture Hybrid’s heavier sole plate positions the centre of gravity low and away from the face for higher launch and low spin–resulting in high, penetrating trajectories for longer, softer landing approach shots. The sloped crown—first introduced on the popular G5 Hybrid—also aids in increasing the launch angle and reducing spin. Ping Rapture Hybrid’s have a large head and a trailing edge relief design provides control from any turf condition. The shape and thickness of the sole plate extends weight to the perimeter for maximum forgiveness.

Mulit Material Technology: 475 Super Steel Face, 17-4 Stainless Steel Body, Tungsten Nickel Sole. 17-4 Stainless Steel Body: The stainless steel body is engineered for control and forgiveness.High Density Tungsten Nickel Sole: The heavy, tungsten nickel sole plate positions the center of gravity low and away from the face for higher launching and lower spinnning shots. 475 Super Steel Face: The thin, super steel face provides a hot, responsive hitting area for added distance. Sloped Crown Design: This design helps bring the CG further down and away from the face, resulting in a club that is easy to control from any turf conditions.

New TFC 909D Graphite Shaft: This new, premium graphite shaft was designed specifically for the rapture driver using high quality, lightweight materials which increase clubhead speed for maximum distance and increase tip and butt stability for better control and feel. The new Aldila VS Proto 65 shaft is also available.

Multi-material Technology Club composed of a 17-4 SS body, thin 475 super steel face, and high density tungsten nickel sole. Properly utilizing these materials increases the moment of inertia, making this hybrid more forgiving and also creates higher launch and less spin for a higher but flatter penetrating ball flight. Tungsten Nickel Sole Discretionary weight saved from the thin 475 SS face and other non-high stress areas is put back in the tungsten nickel sole as weight pads that are strategically placed along the back skirt of the club to bring the CG down and back. This provides a hybrid that launches the ball high for soft approach shots, but also has a penetrating trajectory for maximum distance. Sloped Crown Design Helps bring the CG further down and away from the face resulting in a club that is easy to control from any turf conditions. Robotic Plasma Weld Very accurate and consistent welds improve the consistency and durability of the face while saving weight, which can be redistributed throughout the club head. Exceptional Aesthetics Simple, but eye catching aesthetics make the Rapture Hybrid appealing to your eye. Three Loft Options Available in 18°, 21°, and 24° loft options, you are sure to find a club to replace those hard to hit long irons, with easier to hit hybrids. New TFX 909H Shaft Premium graphite shaft designed by PING specifically for the Rapture product line. This shaft utilizes high-end lightweight materials which increase club head speed for maximum distance and increase tip stability for better control and feel. VS Proto 80 Hybrid Shaft Premium graphite shaft designed by Aldila promotes a lower ball flight trajectory than the TFC 909H, by producing a lower launch angle with a slightly lower spin rate. New NTS Grip This new wrap style grip utilizes a soft rubber compound for enhanced feel, similar to the 703 grip.

Ping Rapture V2 Driver–A Good Assistant In Your Game

Ping engineers have captured the hot face of the G10 and the solid sound and feel of the original Rapture and put it into the V2 package.By expanding the height of the face and elongating clubhead dimensions, Ping has enlarged the sweet spot on the clubface and provided a very hot face, providing tremendous ball velocity regardless of player skill level.

With a slightly elongated face profile and high-technology mix of titanium body with tungsten weights, valder fields Single capitalizes on the clubfitters’ holy grail of high launch, low spin. The Rapture V2 does this with performance and style. Dual Tungsten weights do the job of keeping weight low and deep in the head, to help get the ball airborne.

The first noticeable difference from the original Rapture driver is the racy lime green color on the shaft and the soleplate. But the changes aren’t merely cosmetic. In what Hollywood might call a plot twist, Ping has equipped the V2 with a super lightweight stock 939 shaft in L through X flexes. With a shaft weight of 47 grams and a 45.75-inch finished length, this makes the V2 one of the lightest and longest drivers on the market. Making a cameo in this sequel is the stock upgrade of a Mitsubishi Diamana Blueboard shaft. At 63 grams, this ultra-premium shaft lowers spin and launch for players who want a little beefier shaft than the 939.

I am a golfer for many years, for me,the most excting thing is to play golf.I have bought many golf clubs and I have never thought i would love this club PING Rapture V2 Driver so much.I seldom make reviews in the public and I think it should be very careful to say the reviews. But today I want to make a review and tell everybody that the clubs is so nice.I love it and I hope more and more golfers will love it too.For the golfers, the clubs are so important,so why not choose the driver and make your game more wonderful?

The visible, dense tungsten weight pads in the back of the lightweight titanium head expand the perimeter weighting and position the center-of-gravity low and away from the face.

The 460cc head is slightly elongatedby extending the face height and aggressively sloping the crown. The thin face is precisely machined and plasma-welded to deliver higher ball speeds for greater distance.

External tungsten weights
Discretionary weight savings from the crown and face structure is allocated in the form of two tungsten weight pads positioned in the back of the driver near the heel and toe to optimize the CG location for lower spin and high launch

Thin crown design
Finite element analysis (FEA) revealed low stress areas in the crown which freed mass to be positioned lower in the club head to increase the moment-of-inertia and optimize the center of gravity (CG) location.

Patented variable thickness face
The thin, variable thickness face is precision machined to produce high ball speeds for added distance and forgiveness across the entire club face.

Tapered crown design
An aggressively tapered crown allows for a taller face and helps push the center of gravity (CG) lower and farther back to reduce spin. The tungsten weight pads are positioned low and near the heel and toe to ensure proper head rotation.

Confidence-inspiring head profile
The taller face and tapered crown design produce a slightly elongated 460cc head with a high moment-of-inertia (MOI). The double-Rapture graphic on the crown aids in alignment.

With a slightly elongated face profile and high-technology mix of titanium body with tungsten weights, the V2 capitalizes on the clubfitters’ holy grail of high launch, low spin.

Ever since the release of PING Rapture V2 driver the record for drivers sales have been changed time and time again. Now its total sales have amounted to nearly 200 thousand golf clubs. Friends have asked me about why this golf club is so great to be sold. So I think it is necessary to make some analysis about this clubs.
